Come Worship with me

Our Father which art in Heaven,                                                 Holy God up in heaven is our Father. The God who created all things is our Father. The Master of the entire universe is our Father. The Lord of Lords and the King of Kings is our Father.

Hallowed be thy name..
He is holy, pure and perfect. He is loving, full of mercy and ready to forgive. His name is holy because He is holy. So, what is my name? Is mine holy?

Thy kingdom come.
His kingdom is within us. He is Lord and Master. His rule is not only right and best, but is best for us. We keep His commandments for we love Him. We worship Him for He alone is worthy. Pray His kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven.
As heaven is full of joy and praise, crying “Holy, Holy, Holy,” we dare not wait until we get there. Let us live for Him, His way, and for His glory. Our obedience is a worthy form of worship. Our life will reveal Him who sets men free. And our joy will cause others to desire our victory in Him.

Give us this day our daily bread.
He loves us every day. He cares for us every day. He waits to respond to our prayers of faith. How wonderful! We have an “every day” God with unlimited supply.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
“As we forgive our debtors,” those who trespass against us, who sin against us. If we want mercy, we must give mercy. If we want a new start, we must give a new start. Being Christian, Christ-like, is not a Sunday affair. It is being an “every day” servant.

And lead us not into temptation,
Temptations are those invitations from within us, planted by Satan, to do that which displeases “Our Father” and causes us to sin against Him. It is not yet a sin, only an invitation. Satan knows all too easily what invitations will appeal to each of us. All too often, we loose this battle within us. A way of escape is God’s mercy indeed. Oh, please, Holy Father lead us not into temptation.

but deliver us from evil--the evil one.
Satan has awesome power. He has an evil heart. He is a liar and will lie to us at will. His constant effort is to make evil appear good and right in our circumstances. We become slaves to our lusts and passions and are led away by them. Only the power and love of our “Holy Father” can deliver us.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.  Let it be so.          Matt. 6:9-13
